Barbican Christmas Shopping


The Barbican is holding a Christmas Shopping Evening in its gift shop, with a 15% discount on Thursday 6th December. Find original gifts for design freaks, among the homeware, contemporary craft, stationery, jewellery, books and more. Museum of London’s grotto


Santa’s Victorian grotto is open at Museum of London. Bring the family to walk through a twinkling Victorian walkway and receive a gift from Santa. Other events include an adults’ Christmas paper crafts workshop on Saturday 8th December. For children, the Russian legend of Babushka is read on 15th & 22nd December. Carols at The Ned hotel


One of the best carol concerts in town is set within the Christmassy confines of The Ned hotel. Listen to Christmas classics performed by a cast of choirs and special guests. Plus, you can stare in wonder at the splendidly large Christmas tree. ‘A Christmas Carol’ at The Old Vic theatre

Fashion and Textile Museum Christmas party


You’re invited to a vintage Christmas party at the Fashion and Textile Museum. This is to celebrate the ‘Night & Day: 1930s Fashion and Photographs’ exhibition. Dennis Severs’ House Christmas installation


For an old-fashioned Christmas, take a tour of the annual festive installation at Dennis Severs’ House, which used to be the home of a family of silk weavers. Created by artist Dennis Severs, the 10 rooms are lit by candlelight and fire. Be transported back in time into the 18th century and admire the decorations. Ticket £17.50. Ends 4th January 2019.
